This shoot was quite a while in the making. Not that it was far away, difficult to plan or even a lot of equipment to haul. I planned last Summer to do a styled shoot with my dear friend and thankfully willing model, Kaitlin. I had a vision, asked her to find a dress and it was set. Then I fell at work and found out knee surgery was in my future. I spent the remainder of last year through this Spring having and then recovering from knee surgery. I slowly started to push back into my photography business that was left blowing in the wind while I recovered mostly in bed or a recliner. One day after returning to my "day job", Kaitlin asked if we were ever going to do that photo shoot that she bought the dress for. Right away we set up a day and I started thinking on what this shoot was going to evolve into. Ideas floated around and then it hit me... That white dress needs cowboy boots and a matching little model to go with.
I made the plan with Kaitlin to meet in the morning when the clean bright light would be filtering through the trees. I dressed my daughter and favorite model/assistant in her little white dress and cowgirl boots and off we went! Everything went beautifully and they looked so great. We didn't think we would get a chance to shoot on the train tracks, but with time on our side, we made it across the park and got some great shots at the end. So glad we took a few little chances that really paid off in the end!
I hope it was worth the wait!!!
