When I got the message from Haley about 2 years ago, I had no idea that she and her fiancee James would quickly become favorite wedding clients! We met for the first time in person last year for their engagement session. I could instantly tell how in love they were and how wonderful this union was going to be.
Fast forward to the wedding day. We arrived in Hanover around 9am to find bridal preparations in full swing. The couple's new home was buzzing with bridesmaids and stylists, and of course a very important member of the wedding party, their doggy, Adonis. He spent the first moments barking at us and checking out all our photo equipment. He warmed up and we went about our work. We spent the whole morning capturing all the silly times of this lively crew, then it was off to the church! We headed to lovely historic Mount Airy to Calvary Church to prepare for the ceremony. We pulled in just as the groom and his fellows were pulling onto the premises. We had never seen such big smiles.
Once everyone was dressed to the nines, our next big moment was the "First Look". Now this wasn't your not so traditional moment where the bride and groom get to "cheat" and see each other before the altar. We decided the throw in our own special twist and switch the groom out for the father of the bride. We kept Dad outside, and let Haley sneak up on him for an emotional reveal that had everyone in tears and me mentally noting that we should do this at every wedding, from now on, forever! Once everyone was composed, we headed inside for the big moment! The ceremony was stunning, not a dry eye in the house.
After some time for everyone to take some phone pics and dote on the bride and groom, we headed to the reception. We found the wedding party hanging out by the bride and grooms little red convertible upon the stunning grounds of the Linganore Winery and Winecellars. Family formals flew by and before we knew it, the happy couple were sharing a heartfelt first dance in the ballroom.
The reception was amazing, including a touching and hilarious choreographed dance between the bride and her father. The sun set just as the cake was being cut and we slipped out for some glowing portraits in the vineyard. Haley and James were up for anything and ready to make some amazing memories. This was one for the books and a sweet and darling couple that will not be forgotten. We wish a long and beautiful life of love and happiness to Mr. and Mrs. James & Haley Taylor!!!
