12 Years | 3 Boys | Unlimited Happily Ever After | Fall Family Session | Clarksburg, MD

Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to catch up with a very old friend.  Since our school days, she has married a sweet guy and they have created a beautiful family complete with 3 adorable and well behaved young gentlemen.  We had a blast playing on rocks and talking about food and fun.  The boys were full of smiles and Mom and Dad did great too!  It is always nice to reconnect with old friends later in life and I can't wait to connect again!  It also just so happens that today is their 12th wedding anniversary... So a very Happy Anniversary to these two and warmest wishes for many more to come!

Meet Baby Josiah...13 days new...

I always adore it when someone I know is having a baby.  I love everything about it.  I love watching their belly grow and happily waiting with them until the little bundle of joy arrives!  This one seemed like he was a long time coming being that he arrive "slightly" after his due date...  I am even more moved when I have the chance to be their newborn photographer.  This is an honor like no other.  They are trusting me with their most precious piece of their heart, and even though they are never more than a few inches away, it is still a big deal for Mom and Dad!  They did great and so did baby Josiah!  I am so happy to introduce to the world this sweet little bundle of joy and I am so honored to have been his first photographer!

Samantha's Rockin' Mini Session

What a gorgeous night for Samantha's mini-session.  We had perfect weather, perfect sun, and of course, a beautiful subject!  I was so impressed with Sam's maturity and readiness in front of the camera.  Only entering 8th grade this year, but definitely already a classy lady and ready to do big things!

A Little Country... A Styled Shoot by JMPhotography

This shoot was quite a while in the making.  Not that it was far away, difficult to plan or even a lot of equipment to haul.  I planned last Summer to do a styled shoot with my dear friend and thankfully willing model, Kaitlin.  I had a vision, asked her to find a dress and it was set.  Then I fell at work and found out knee surgery was in my future.  I spent the remainder of last year through this Spring having and then recovering from knee surgery.  I slowly started to push back into my photography business that was left blowing in the wind while I recovered mostly in bed or a recliner.  One day after returning to my "day job", Kaitlin asked if we were ever going to do that photo shoot that she bought the dress for.  Right away we set up a day and I started thinking on what this shoot was going to evolve into.  Ideas floated around and then it hit me...  That white dress needs cowboy boots and a matching little model to go with.

I made the plan with Kaitlin to meet in the morning when the clean bright light would be filtering through the trees.  I dressed my daughter and favorite model/assistant in her little white dress and cowgirl boots and off we went!  Everything went beautifully and they looked so great.  We didn't think we would get a chance to shoot on the train tracks, but with time on our side, we made it across the park and got some great shots at the end.  So glad we took a few little chances that really paid off in the end!

I hope it was worth the wait!!!

Special thanks to:

Sydney's Senior Session

June 26, 2015  •  Leave a Comment

First of all, I have to say what an honor it was to be chosen as Sydney's Senior Portrait Photographer.  This girl is going to do big things!  I have known her since she was only 4 years old, and over the years I have watched her grow into a beautiful, intelligent, and driven young woman.  In addition to her regular studies, Sydney was also accepted into the performance arts magnet program in Annapolis.  She kept up with a rigorous schedule, including AP courses, and it has definitely paid off!  This girl is an astonishing performer.  She is currently in production on her second movie and loves singing for a live audience.  She plans to attend college in the Fall to pursue...  Well, I suppose you will have to wait and see.  Whatever road she takes, it is very obvious that this is just the beginning for the extremely talented Sydney Knoll.
